NHL Playoffs Daily Picks- May 2, 2024

Wednesday’s Recap:

The Oilers became the second western conference team to advance to the conference semi’s as they held off the Kings 4-3 in Los Angeles as heavy road favorites. This was the second straight season that the Oilers and Connor McDavid have eliminated the Kings in the first round of the playoffs. The Stars and Golden Knights started off with a bang as four goals were scored in the opening 15 minutes of play, but only one scored in the final 45 minutes of game action, by Stars Jason Robertson late in the 2nd period to put the Stars over the top 3-2. It was Robertson’s third goal of the playoffs.

Favorites went 2-0 SU last night, one as a home and away favorites. Totals landed at 1-1 O/U for Wednesday. Favorites move to 24-13 for the playoffs while home favorites are 15-11 SU. Totals are 20-18-1 for the playoffs.

Wednesday’s Picks:

Our winning streak was short-lived as we had a tough break on the Stars-Golden Knights over getting beat by the hook after scoring four in the first period. We went 2-2, -0.84 units on Wednesday. For the playoffs we’re now 31-47 for -22.53 units at a -28.88% ROI.

Below are our NHL Picks for May 2, 2024:

Only one game tonight and it’s a big one. The Maple Leafs host the Bruins for what will be an extremely hostile environment and I look for this one to be a doozy to watch. The Bruins will look to come in tonight and set the tone with their physicality so it’ll be interesting to see how the Maple Leafs handle that while playing their brand of hockey.
